​'Here I am....'
The engravings at Govan Cross represent of some of its languages from ancient languages now nearly extinct in the modern world like Norse and older forms of Welsh and Gaelic to  languages which are newer to Govan such as Chinese, Urdu and Arabic. 'Here I am' is engraved in twenty seven languages that range through countries and time - an evolution of language in stone.
